HISTORY
Established in 2004 in Detroit, MI, Bully Breeds LLC, was officially formed to breed and develop 'bully' type breeds. Bully Breeds' owners have been around animals all their lives. What started out as training hunting dogs, turned into a brick and mortar establishment dedicated to the healthy training and breeding of dogs.
Training is a very important part of dog ownership. The 'bully' breed is not recommended for the first time owner. Proper knowledge regarding breed characteristics and dog psychology should be learned and practiced before owning this type of dog. With proper training, the results and relationship offered by these breeds is one of the most rewarding. Bully Breeds has always offered training packages on site at our facility. In 2007, GPK9 (Grosse Pointe K9) was formed as an in-home training service to promote this philosophy.
We have found numerous dog owners over the years committed to making their relationship with their dog better, and in the comfort of their own home. GPK9 offers this type of training. We have found that a healthy balance of in-home training combined with training at Bully Breeds offers the best all around socialization and environmental training.
Bully Breeds works daily to improve the owner dog relationship and to help diminish the stereotypes involved with larger breeds.
BREEDING CHOICES
There are many dog breeders available. Some are fly-by-night operations and have limited commitment to their dogs or the people they sell them to. Our dogs are bred with temperament, intelligence, and the individual breed standards being of highest priority. We believe without these criteria, a breeder will be making 'attack dogs,' rather than companion gaurd dogs. When qualities such as temperament and intelligence are left out of the breeding characteristic equation, you are left with a large powerful dog that will land on the banned breeds list in your local community. Anyone can make a large dog. It takes great care and knowledge to produce a family companion that is loyal and works for you.
